I’m the Moody half of Fern & Moody Salon. I’m a queer, nonbinary barber with 15 years experience in cosmetology and barbering. I thrive when I get to work with short hair — whether it’s a classic fade, a textured crop or a funky mullet. But more than that, I’m here to create a space where you feel seen, heard and affirmed in your identity. Gender-affirming transformations? That’s what gives me life. Helping someone feel more at home in their skin is hands down the most rewarding part of what I do.

I didn’t always know I was queer. I figured it out at 26 — while working at a queer salon, surrounded by people who actually felt at home in their identity. It hit me how many of us go through life not seeing ourselves fully reflected, even in something as personal as a haircut. I also realized how many clients had a negative experience — sitting in a chair, not feeling understood, not feeling seen. And I didn’t like that it was the norm for many queer folks.
That’s why I specialize in gender-affirming hair, short cuts and bold color transformations. Hair should make you feel like you, not like a compromise. Whether you’re after a sharp fade, a shaggy mullet or a platinum blonde moment, I’m here to make sure you walk out feeling confident and completely yourself.

Traditional salons can be overstimulating, overwhelming and just too much. My private suite offers a more personal, one-on-one experience — no rows of chairs, no stylists rushing to get you in and out. Just a space where you can feel comfortable, seen and taken care of.
